Secured Socket Layer ("SSL") certificate
A SSL certificate addresses the major security and privacy concerns of doing business and communicating over the Internet. It provides a valid server ID, which in turn enables a secure SSL connection with the browser that is being communicated with. As a trusted Certification Authority, Thawte has built a reputation for offering outstanding value for money and superb customer service. JUSTrackz is an authorised reseller of Thawte certificates.
In summary, a SSL certificate
- confirms that you are who you say you are in a virtual world.
- encrypts information sent to and from your web server.
- protects information from being tampered with.
You need one if:
- you conduct online transactions via your web site.
- you receive/send information of a personal nature via your web site.
- you wish to inspire trust in those who communicate with you via your web site.
